Room 17, Second Floor, Haunted House, Saturday Evening

Isabelle was so very ready to move out of this place. Yes, living on an even tinier island than usual was maybe quaint and all, and she hadn't had to deal with her roommate much at all, and maybe if you squinted, there was something comfortingly familiar about the presence of the supernatural.

But. That last bit especially was so goddamn annoying. See, when Isabelle was trying to take advantage of the fact that her roommate wasn't around, and trying to, you know, relax and enjoy herself a little, all curled up on her bed in her nice pajamas (because being alone was no reason to look anything less than her best) and scrolling through some of the more not safe for the public kind of stuff she had saved on her phone... The last thing she needed was for some disembodied voice to start crying uncontrollably in the corner of her room. Right as she was about to settle down to watch that one video, too. Pretty boys getting it on didn't go with wailing, thank you very much!

And of course, the crying voice was soon joined by another one. And once those quieted down, there was a brief misty figure on the other side of the room.

"Are you done already?"

When she felt a random instance of pure dread rush through her senses, she slumped down on her bed with a great big annoyed sigh. So ready to move out of this damn place.

[ooc: Closed door, open post if you're up for SP. In all honesty I am mostly posting to use at least a portion of an idea I ran out of time to fully use, la.]

Isabelle let him just look at her for a moment, then raised one eyebrow.

"I'm also a person, for the record. I'm not a banshee waiting to claw your eyes out if you get closer."

"I just didn't want to get snapped at again," Flick told her, shrugging and stepping closer until his knees hit the side of her bed. "I'm sorry you're in a bad mood."

"You didn't get snapped at the first time." Yes he did. She looked up at him and shrugged. "As for that other part, I'll get over it."

[flickofthewrist]

"You snapped at me," Flick said, looking down and shrugging. "There anything you want to do as a distraction?"

Isabelle patted a spot on the bed next to her.

"Sit down."

[flickofthewrist]

Flick took a seat carefully, settling down without saying anything and getting himself a little comfortable.

Once done, he glanced over at her.

And Isabelle scooted over to lean against his side. It was just the obvious thing to do! And she had invited him to sit down.

"How's the hand?"

[flickofthewrist]

"Better," he said, holding up his hand. He'd been able to go to some lighter splints which meant they were attached individually to each finger instead of being in a complete immobilizer.

He had some use of his fingers now, at least, where he could grasp things even if his strength wasn't really there right now. "Maybe a few more weeks and I'll have them off entirely."

"Ooh," Isabelle replied, finally managing a tiny smile while she rubbed her cheek against his shoulder. "Then I know what I will be requesting a few weeks from now."

[flickofthewrist]

"What will you be requesting a few weeks from now?" he asked, glancing down at her. "A freshly prepared meal?"

He was a great cook, after all (no he was not).

Still, probably better than she was. Because she was terrible.

Isabelle smirked at him, and held up one hand, palm up. Then she crooked her index and middle finger in the 'come here' motion.

No, she wasn't asking him to come closer.

Flick figured out what she meant after a second and he chuckled quietly. He looked down at his fingers, giving them a little wiggle since he had some range of motion now.

"Soon," he promised with a very gentle nod. He settled his fingers down again and looked over. "Not too much longer."

Isabelle snickered, but also made sure to give him her very best pleased smile.

"Good," she said. "I miss the screaming."

[flickofthewrist]

"Soon," he repeated quietly, looking down at her. "Just need a little more time."

He figured he could have just taken the splints off now and be done with it but he figured it'd just be beneficial to get the full healing out of the way since he'd come this far already.

"Oh, take all the time you need, baby," Isabelle told him easily, nuzzling his shoulder again. Guess she was feeling a little extra affectionate. "I can wait. I have things to occupy my time, anyway."

"What things?" he asked, glancing down at her again. "Anything interesting?"

She shrugged her free shoulder. "Well, I need to go back to New York for a bit soon," she said. "My parents will be heading to Idris to take part in prepping everything for the Accords."

[flickofthewrist]

"What are the Accords?" he asked after a moment. "Sounds almost like a Geneva Conventions or something."

[seveninchmotto]

"Kind of?"

Of course, Isabelle's grasp on mundane things like that was... vague, at best.

"It's the peace treaty between us and the Downworlders."

[flickofthewrist]

"Pretty similar, then," Flick said, nodding. "You going with your parents? Or just seeing them off?"

[seveninchmotto]

Isabelle waved a hand. "I don't care for politics." It was boring to her. "But my parents being in Idris with Max means there aren't that many Shadowhunters around the Institute. So I'm going to go stay there for a little bit, to see if the Accords cause any demonic unrest in the city."

[flickofthewrist]

"That makes sense," Flick said thoughtfully. "Hopefully it won't but be safe, okay?"

[seveninchmotto]

"Always." Of course, she was also perhaps hoping for some unrest. She was at her best when she was dealing with demons. "I was thinking of going after my classes next week."

[flickofthewrist]

Flick nodded. "What a good, diligent student you are," he quipped with a small smile.

"If I don't see you around that weekend, then I guess I'll know where you are," he added. "But seriously. Be safe if anything does happen."

"Aww, does that mean you don't want me to be devoured by a Greater Demon?" Isabelle teased, giving him a little nudge with her shoulder. "Hmm?"
