Room 17, Second Floor, Haunted House, Saturday Evening

Isabelle was so very ready to move out of this place. Yes, living on an even tinier island than usual was maybe quaint and all, and she hadn't had to deal with her roommate much at all, and maybe if you squinted, there was something comfortingly familiar about the presence of the supernatural.

But. That last bit especially was so goddamn annoying. See, when Isabelle was trying to take advantage of the fact that her roommate wasn't around, and trying to, you know, relax and enjoy herself a little, all curled up on her bed in her nice pajamas (because being alone was no reason to look anything less than her best) and scrolling through some of the more not safe for the public kind of stuff she had saved on her phone... The last thing she needed was for some disembodied voice to start crying uncontrollably in the corner of her room. Right as she was about to settle down to watch that one video, too. Pretty boys getting it on didn't go with wailing, thank you very much!

And of course, the crying voice was soon joined by another one. And once those quieted down, there was a brief misty figure on the other side of the room.

"Are you done already?"

When she felt a random instance of pure dread rush through her senses, she slumped down on her bed with a great big annoyed sigh. So ready to move out of this damn place.

"You have such a strange definition of a prince," he told her, snickering. "But sure, okay. I'm a prince."

He even smiled a bit after saying that.

"Finally," Isabelle sighed. "I've been waiting for you to accept that since we were crowned."

And he bailed on her dance.

[flickofthewrist]

"I'm still not wearing a crown," Flick told her, shaking his head. "That's not happening."

[seveninchmotto]

"That's okay," she shrugged. "It'd just detract attention from mine, anyway." Not that she wore hers anywhere, but she was keeping it in a prominent spot on her vanity table. "Your status can stay a secret between us."

[flickofthewrist]

Flick shook his head but decided that compromise was good enough for him. He didn't say anything immediately, either. Just watched her from the close proximity and smiled a bit as he did.

She watched him back. Quietly. They seemed to have gotten over a brief awkward moment, and she was taking a moment to just enjoy the fact that they weren't awkward now.

The awkwardness was definitely gone now. Flick rubbed his thumb against the small of her back and sighed quietly. Didn't say anything just yet since he had nothing that he wanted to immediately come out with.

Isabelle leaned in close and briefly rubbed the tip of her nose against his. Wasn't her usual thing, but she had to go with the whim on this one.

"Anyway, we still have a ton of plans for whenever I'm back on the island," she noted quietly.

[flickofthewrist]

"I know," Flick told her, nodding once. "And I'll be here, waiting for you to come back so we can get to those. Don't stay away too long."

[seveninchmotto]

"I'll travel back and forth a lot," she replied. "I'm not disappearing for long." Well, she didn't think she would be, anyway. "I'll be back to do... whatever all it was that we planned we'd do."

[flickofthewrist]

"Okay." He nodded and held his tongue on one particular thing he wanted to ask. Just held it. "Like I said, I'll be here. No plans to go anywhere."

[seveninchmotto]

"Good." She leaned forward again, but this time it was to rest her head against his shoulder. "I'll look forward to that."

[flickofthewrist]

"So will I," he murmured, sighing quietly and cradling her against him.

[seveninchmotto]

"And as has now been well established," she added, her eyes closed, "there are phones while I'm away. Calls may, and probably will happen."

She paused for a beat.

"Possibly phone sex, too."

[flickofthewrist]

"You think you're gonna have enough privacy for that?" he asked, sounding amused.

[seveninchmotto]

"In a big building with only four people in it?"

That would be a yes.

But she'd still lock her door.

[flickofthewrist]

"Then, it can possibly be arranged," Flick decided with a slight nod. "I'm sure it won't be a problem."

[seveninchmotto]

Isabelle snorted. "You sound like it's a business deal and not something that happens spontaneously between people taken over by hormones."

[flickofthewrist]

"Didn't mean it like that," Flick told her, shaking his head. "I meant I'm game for it."

[seveninchmotto]

"I know, puppy," she murmured, sounding amused. "And I would've been surprised if you weren't. You have an obvious flair for dirty talk, and the distance doesn't matter."

[flickofthewrist]

"Thanks," Flick said, taking the compliments with a quiet word and a nod. He closed his eyes and breathed quietly.

[seveninchmotto]

"And then I'll end up frustrated that you can't come and see me where I live," Isabelle added thoughtfully after a moment. "But that'll give the next reunion extra kick."

Clearly she'd thought of everything.

[flickofthewrist]

"Been thinking about this?" Flick had to wonder since she had options and solutions left and right.

[seveninchmotto]

"Not really, I'm just a quick thinker." And much more willing to share these kinds of thoughts than she was the affectionate, emotional stuff. Because that was how she was.

She picked her head up off his shoulder again, to see him. "What can I say? I find topics like this highly inspiring."

[flickofthewrist]

"As long as you take care of yourself while you're home," Flick told her quietly. "I can't...help with your stuff, I know, so just take care of yourself."
