Room 301, Monday Afternoon

Isabelle was having trouble focusing.

She didn't even have anything in particular that needed her undivided attention, so it shouldn't have been a problem. But it was annoying. She didn't like moods like this. What was the point of not being able to get lost in doing anything? Ugh. And she'd already been down at the gym training, too. And both her closets were as organized as they were going to get. And she didn't feel like shopping.

So, this was how you ended up pacing around the room like a caged animal. It was not a good look on her.

Maybe she needed to go for a run or something.

"I don't think I am," he said, shaking his head. "But, if that's how you want it to be..."

"You've had your fun," she told him, rolling her eyes.

[flickofthewrist]

"What, you over me now?" Flick asked, crossing his arms. "Stopped caring like you said you would?"

Isabelle mirrored his movement in crossing her own arms, and lifted her chin up.

"Yes."

[flickofthewrist]

"Mmm." He stayed where he was. "So, tell me that. Tell me you don't care about me and you're over me. Make me believe it."

What an impossible task.

But since they were already stuck in this weird game... "I'm done with you," she said, without hesitation. "I'm bored with you, and you don't matter."

[flickofthewrist]

One corner of Flick's mouth lifted and he snickered. "I don't believe you. You're not done with me, you want me, and you love me. I matter. I matter deeply to you and you know it."

Isabelle shook her head. "Nah."

Did that sound familiar? She was quoting him.

[flickofthewrist]

"I still don't believe you, baby," Flick told her, shaking his head and slouching comfortably against her door. "Gonna have to do better than that."

"Why should I?" she retorted. "I don't care. Therefore, I also don't care about convincing you."

[flickofthewrist]

Flick shook his head and licked his lips.

"I'm gonna leave and you're gonna be alone and bored again," he pointed out. "And I might not come back again."

She raised her eyebrows. "Should that matter? By your own admission, it's not like you care about being here."

[flickofthewrist]

"But, I never said I was done with you," he reminded her. "If that's what you wanna be, so be it. Hope you enjoy spreading your wings again."

According to Isabelle, that deserved nothing but an eyeroll.

So that was all he got.

Flick huffed out a laugh and pushed off the door so he could turn around and reach for the doorknob.

"Lovely response," he commented, shaking his head. "See you around."

Isabelle did nothing. And said nothing.

She knew there should have been some kind of a sarcastic quip here, but she couldn't find one. Instead, she was having the uncomfortable sensation that the situation had slipped out of her grip at some point without her noticing.

Flick shook his head again and pulled the door open. He didn't slam it or anything, though.

Just walked out since she apparently wasn't going to say anything else. He'd go back to his room and find something to do.

He could stay gone.

Isabelle stared after him, stunned.

Then she surged forward and yanked the door open and –– "What the fuck?" she called after him, down the hallway. "You started this, you little shit! Where do you think you're going?"

Had it been sufficiently covered what a bad influence he was on her language? Because he was.

Flick spun around and raised his eyebrows at the language. That had been pretty impressive.

"Back to my room," he told her, shrugging. "I started this but you went right along with it until you didn't."

"When did I stop?" Isabelle demanded to know. Sorry, neighbors. "When was I supposed to stop?"

[flickofthewrist]

"You did notice I took my time in leaving, right?" Flick asked, keeping his eyebrows up. "And that you said nothing to me until I actually walked out the door."

[seveninchmotto]

"Because I didn't think you would actually leave!"

Guess that had been dumb of her, and feeling dumb made her feel angry.

[flickofthewrist]

"So, this is all my fault, huh?" he asked, shaking his head. "Okay, fine."

Isabelle huffed out a sigh.

"Baby, just come back."

[flickofthewrist]

Flick chewed on his lip for a second before he walked back towards her and her room. He didn't say anything as he did.
