A Roller Skating Rink, Baltimore, Saturday Afternoon
It was the weekend, which was a time for fun, and sometimes fun meant seeking out new experiences. And that was why Isabelle had grabbed Flick to go out to a roller skating place today. She'd been ice skating a time or two when she'd been a tiny kid, but this would be new. She was adopting a new philosophy with regards to her time in Fandom, and that had a lot to do with trying out new activities. Like a mundie girl.
She smiled at Flick while they were entering the building. "Ever been to one of these?"
[ooc: NFB due to off-the-islandness, for the boy and massive SP!]

The people behind the counter were glad he was distracting her, though.
no subject
The counter staff so owed him.

"Cry yourself to sleep, probably," she guessed with a sigh. "So, lucky you."
no subject
"And I do look terrible when I cry," he said, shaking his head. "You've saved me from a terrible fate of looking gross as I fall asleep."
no subject
"And you're welcome," she said, even though he hadn't thanked her. It had been implied, really.
Anyway, a timid staff member came up to them just then with a pair of red skates for her and a pair of blue ones for him, and Isabelle clasped her hands together. "Now this is more like it, thank you."
no subject
"Thanks," Flick said, giving the staff member a nod of understanding. She was totally intimidating, yes.
no subject
And yes, she much preferred her killer heels, too, but she couldn't very well skate in those, so she picked up her decently red new footwear off the counter. "Well, do you think it's the right size?"
no subject
"I think it might be close," Flick said, unwilling to completely admit that she'd maybe gotten his size right. Not just yet.
no subject
Even if he hadn't admitted a perfect fit, she already looked smug.
"Well, let's go try them on, then."
no subject
"Lead on," Flick told her. He pointed out a place somewhere near the rink. "I think I see some empty benches over there. Enough space for the both of us."

Probably. When some other people did it.
no subject
It was innocent for some people. Just not her.
no subject
She still took a seat next to him to pull her high heels off her feet. "Everything can be innocent. Late mornings in bed, walks on the beach, phone calls..."
no subject
"Yes, everything can be innocent," Flick agreed, "but when it comes to some people, even the most innocent things are definitely not innocent. At all."
She remembered the last time they'd spent time in bed, right? Or the bed on the beach? And while he'd never done anything over the phone with her, he'd done a lot of talking that was not even close to innocent.
no subject
Or to just make him think about dirty memories. Sometimes it was hard to tell with her.
"I don't know if I'd go that far," she mused, setting her shoes neatly aside before picking up a skate. "Maybe some people just have a higher probablity for making it not-innocent. Doesn't mean they're never ever innocent at all."
no subject
"Some people excel at the innocent. Some people don't," Flick said which was somewhat of an agreement. Flick stretched his legs out, boots still on, and watched her get skated up.
no subject
In case he thought she wasn't paying attention.
no subject
no subject
"Well, you won't."
Oh, right. All his innocence got in return was an amused look.
no subject
"Is that right?" He snickered and took a look at the rink. Not too crowded, thankfully, and no one who looked like some of the asshole kids he'd run into when he'd been younger. "Hmm."
