The Institute, New York, Sunday
Things in New York were at a standstill, and had been since the battle on the ship. They were all just waiting for the Clave to come to some kind of a decision about what they were going to do about Valentine.
Isabelle was pretty okay with the waiting. She was making use of the Institute's training room again, and even if she had to now rely mostly on her brothers for assistance and guidance since Hodge was gone, it was still better than the salle at the school. Also? The shopping was way better in New York. So she'd been doing that again today, and was now modeling her new stuff for Church.
The grey cat was probably only interested because she kept crouching down and giving him scritches every few moments.

So, he'd call Isabelle and bother her. Or talk to her. One or the other.

From that, he was supposed to infer that he wasn't interrupting much.

And showing off to the cat, but Church was kind of trying to go to sleep at the foot of her bed, now.

It was a hobby for the self-centered, was what this narrative was getting at. "But of course. It was a very good shopping day for me."

"I'm fine."
That was pretty close to the truth, this time.
